Washington Island Zoning and Planning Committee
Purpose
WA2760-012 Boards, Commissions, Committees - Article XI WIZAP
Be under the direction of the Town Board and is advisory to the Town Board on all matters.
Investigate, evaluate, and make recommendations to the Town Board regarding a Comprehensive Plan and revisions to the Door County Zoning Ordinance.
Investigate, evaluate, and make recommendations to the Town Board in matters regarding conditional use permits, variances, text amendments, and zoning change requests, then the Town Board shall submit to the Door County Resource Planning Committee and to the Board of Adjustment as applicable to Washington Island.
Work with other Committees when applicable to achieve common goals.

Comprehensive Plan
The Town of Washington worked with the Bay-Lake Regional Planning Commission to develop a 20-year comprehensive plan. A comprehensive plan reflects the community priorities and their shared vision for future growth and development. It considers population trends, housing needs, transportation, economic development, parks, community facilities and utilities, and more. The plan will serve as Washington's key planning and policy tool to guide decision-making for the next 20 years.
