
Archives Committee
Purpose
WA2760-012 Boards, Commissions, Committees - Article II Archives
Be under the direction of the Town Board and is advisory to the Town Board on all matters.
Locate, gather, classify, record, and permanently preserve a pictorial, oral and written continuum of the Town of Washington and its environs.
Provide presentations of material for the general public on a regular basis in order that all may benefit from the collection.
Provide supervised use of the materials acquired to members of the general public in order that those who desire to study community history may do so.
Establish policies, standing rules and procedures to support the purposes of the Archives Committee. The Committee shall be supervised by the Town Board. All such policies, rules and procedures, and amendments thereto, shall be referred to the Town Board for approval before becoming effective.
Work with other Committees when applicable to achieve common goals.
Recommend a marketing strategy regarding programs and projects sponsored and provided by the Archives.
The future vision for development of the Archives and measures for procuring improvements and funding.
