TOWN OF WASHINGTON

SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING
Monday, April 5th, 2007
6:30PM
Town Office in the Community Center

A. ROLL CALL: Chairman Dutton Morehouse called the meeting to order at 6:30PM. In addition to Morehouse, present were Supervisors James VanRamshorst, Elizabeth Holmes, Ron Overdahl and Joel Gunnlaugsson. All board members were present.

B. CLOSED SESSION – To consider employment, compensation and performance evaluation of public employee as authorized under Section 19.85(1)(c) of State of Wisconsin Statutes, specifically the hiring of a police officer. Motion by Gunnlaugsson seconded by VanRamshorst to go into closed session at 6:31PM. Motion carried. Roll call Vote: Overdahl – aye; Holmes – aye; Gunnlaugsson – aye; Morehouse – aye and VanRamshorst – aye. Motion carried unanimously.

C. RETURN TO OPEN SESSION: Motion by VanRamshorst seconded by Gunnlaugsson to return to open session at 7:05PM. Roll call vote: VanRamshorst – aye; Morehouse – aye; Gunnlaugsson – aye; Holmes – aye and Overdahl – aye. Motion carried unanimously.

D. ACTION BASED ON CLOSED SESSION: Dutton Morehouse asked for a motion to be made to amend the motion made at the Special Town Board Meeting, March 29th, 2007 to extend the interview and background check process as follows: to request of the Sheriff’s Dept. to conduct a background check on Brett Borg and Stuart Ten Cate, and to invite Stuart Ten Cate to an interview on Washington Island at the earliest date that the new Town Board would schedule. To inform Martinson that the background check process is still ongoing and he is still being considered. Motion moved by Ron Overdahl. Seconded by Joel Gunnlaugsson. Motion carried unanimously.

E. ADJOURNMENT: Motion by Gunnlaugsson seconded by VanRamshorst to adjourn at 7:05 PM. Motion carried unanimously.
