Minutes

A. Roll Call – Chairman Dutton Morehouse called the meeting to order at 3:35 PM. Supervisors present were Ron Overdahl, Liz Holmes, Joel Gunnlaugsson and Jim VanRamshorst.

B. Closed Session – to consider employment, compensation and performance evaluation of public employee as authorized under Section 19.85(1)(c) of State of Wisconsin Statutes, specifically the hiring of a police officer. Motion by Gunnlaugsson seconded by Holmes to go into closed session at 3:35 PM. Roll call vote: Overdahl – aye; Holmes – aye; Gunnlaugsson – aye; Morehouse – aye and VanRamshorst – aye. Motion carried unanimously.

C. Return to Open Session – Motion by Gunnlaugsson seconded by VanRamshorst to return to open session at 4:22 PM. Roll call vote: VanRamshorst – aye; Morehouse – aye; Gunnlaugsson – aye; Holmes – aye and Overdahl – aye. Motion carried unanimously.

D. Action based on Closed Session – Motion by VanRamshorst seconded by Holmes to extend an offer of employment to Patrick Heuer as Police Officer on Washington Island. The offer of employment is conditional upon successful completion of Standard Medical Evaluation, Psychological Evaluation and an Agility Test. An offer of employment will be extended to Joshua Martinson in the event that Patrick Heuer declines employment. The Offer to Martinson will be on the same basis described in this motion to Heuer. Starting salary for the position will be $36,000 with a performance evaluation/salary evaluation six months from the starting date. Successful candidate will sign for and receive a copy of the Employee Manual. Motion carries unanimously

E. Adjournment – Motion by VanRamshorst seconded by Overdahl to adjourn at 4:25 PM. Motion carried unanimously.
