TOWN OF WASHINGTON

SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING
Thursday, February 15, 2007
2:00 P.M.
Rutledge Room in the Community Center

A. ROLL CALL: Chairman Dutton Morehouse called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. In addition to Morehouse, present were Supervisors Joel Gunnlaugsson, James VanRamshorst, Ronald Overdahl; Liz Holmes arrived at 2:20 PM.

B. CLOSED SESSION: Motion: Gunnlaugssson moved and VanRamshorst seconded to go into closed session at 2:10 PM as authorized under Section 19.85(1) (c) of State of Wisconsin Statutes for the purpose of interviewing police officer candidates. Roll Call, all ayes. Motion carried

C. RETURN TO OPEN SESSION: Motion: Holmes made a motion to return to open session at 4:15 PM; VanRamshorst seconded. Roll Call, all ayes. Motion carried. Morehouse stated the closed session resulted in no hiring action; hiring action has been deferred to allow completion of background checks by the County Sheriff’s department.

D. NEW BUSINESS:

1. Approve request to fund Washington Island’s portion of cost (approximately $200.00) for attorney Randy Nesbitt to draft intergovernmental agreement for the Municipal Taxpayer Commission. Motion: VanRamshorst moved and Holmes seconded to approve funding. Overdahl explained the Commission has been set up to represent communities in Door County to participate in the study of a room tax. The intergovernmental agreement language which has been impacted by input from all communities will be reviewed by Attorney Randy Nesbitt, and that is the reason for this request. Motion carried.

E. ADJOURNMENT: Motion: Holmes moved and VanRamshorst seconded to adjourn. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 4:50 p.m.
