The monthly meeting of the Recreation Center Committee was called to order by Daniel
Nerenhausen on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 7:00 PM in the Conference room of the Rec Center.
Board members present: Daniel Nerenhausen, John Buxton, Carolyn Foss, Kelly
Jorgenson, Willy Clayton and Herb Gibson.
Also present: Katie McGrane, Manager
Absent: Courtney DeJardin
A motion was made by Carolyn, seconded by John to approve the agenda. Motion
carried.
A motion was made by Carolyn, seconded by John to approve the minutes of the
meeting on Thursday, August 27, 2009. Motion carried.
Manager’s Report:
The new heat exchange part has been installed in the hot tub.
The deposit of $2,500.00 has been sent to the Pool Team to begin the plans for our Virginia Grame Baker upgrade. They estimated plans to be done by September 30 and sent to the state on October 1. Pool Team would like to do the upgrade before winter.
Terry Henkel and Patty Herschberger will be the volunteers during the Aqua fit Class.
The fee for using the tennis courts has had some complaints so after discussion during the manager’s report the committee decided the fee would be $9.00 per court, up to 4 players.
A new rowing machine has been donated so the old rowing machine will be sold.
Old business:
A few committee members met with NWTC again last week to discuss the donation of new flooring in the Mosling Room and the addition of accredited courses to possibly be offered on Washington Island through NWTC. More discussion is needed on both items.
New business:
A letter was received from the W.I. Preschool requesting a donation for their annual fundraiser, the Halloween party. Items for the silent auction table are needed.
A motion was made by Kelly, seconded by Willy to donate a family pass to the W.I. Preschool Halloween fundraiser. Motion carried.
The next monthly meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 15, 2009.
A motion to adjourn at 8:40 PM was made by Herb, seconded by Kelly Jorgenson. Motion carried.
