The monthly meeting of the Recreation Center Committee was called to order by Daniel

Nerenhausen on Wednesday, March 24, 2009 at 7:00 PM in the Conference room of the Rec Center.

Board members present:  Daniel Nerenhausen, John Buxton, Virginia Thomas, Kelly

Jorgenson, Courtney DeJardin, Herb Gibson and Willy Clayton.

Also present:  Bill Nauta, Manager and Carolyn Foss, member designate.

A motion was made by Virginia, seconded by Herb to approve the agenda.  Motion

carried.

A motion was made by John, seconded by Herb to approve the minutes of the monthly

meeting February 27, 2009 and the special meeting on March 3, 2009.  Motion carried.

Manager’s Report:

Bill reported that the new signage in the pool area has been posted.

Valley Surfacing has been contacted to see when approximated date of tennis court resurfacing can be done.  They responded that we are on the top of their list but they will need to wait until they have 3 warm, dry days. 

The need for baby changing stations in both locker rooms will be taken care of this spring. Bill will order or purchase at Sam’s Club. 

The Rec Center staff will need to be recertified in CPR this year.  NWTC has been contacted but need to wait until they have a full group to make a trip to the Island.

The recruitment process for the new manager was discussed.  The applications will be picked up at the Town office on April 9^th at the close of the work day.  Applications will then be reviewed by rec committee members individually and discussed at the next meeting.

The next monthly meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 7:00 PM.

A motion to adjourn at 8:20 PM was made by Kelly, seconded by Courtney.  Motion carried.
